Ghouls Night Out

today, while searching some things about the Misfits i found this:

'it has been loosely confirmed that Michale Graves and Doyle will be returning for the 2007/2008 studio album. Dez Cadena has stated that two guitars will be featured on the new album, thus implying Doyle will be playing on the new album, although no real concrete evidence exists to back up this claim'

if this turns out to be true, i'll be the happiest person on this fucking world \m/ a new Misfits album is an awesome new, but a new Misfits album with Graves on vocals again and Doyle on guitar is just... almost perfect \m/ perfect would be a reunion their classic line-up, but as it doesn't happen, something with Graves is pretty nice too \m/ let's hope this really happens =D

talking about Misfits, here are some horror punk bands i found today. MySpace rocks \m/

Plan 9- they have part of the name of one of the worst movies ever (Plan 9 From Outer Space \m/) but they really rock. they started as a Misfits tribute band, now they sound really like them. perfect for all the lovers of old school Misfits;

The Crimson Ghosts - oh, really? they have the same name of the little Misfits skull!! and yeah, they rock;

The White Coffin Terror - according to themselves, they sound like 'horror, sex, death, lust, hate, beauty, terror'. Want better?

The Horrorifics - they're ugly, they're scary, they look like zombies, and for some reason i put them on my MySpace profile top friends. Influences? Misfits, Danzig, White Zombie, Samhain and Black Sabbath, just to name a few.

en la lluvia me prometiste tu sangre

it seems i'm addicted to this song:

'enfermo llegue
y para componerme
ando de vago
no me des tu obediencia
porque te enseño mi cuerpo de lodo
de donde la piel estubo debil
con una hambre que no me deje cantar

en mi vida
el oscuro me mantiene
cuando yo te vi
en la lluvia me
prometistes tu sangre
yo no me quedo

ya que calle de este mundo
cargo un navaja dios mio para ti
cuantas veses me mordiste
y cuantas veses yo me fui
ya no estoy enamorado
con tus mentiras
pa el infierno me duermo
porque el infierno es la unica verdad

en me vida
el oscuro me mantiene
cuando yo te vi
en la lluvia me
prometiste tu sangre yo no me quedo

estrella de la mañana
samael te persigo a ti
y si me quemo sin alas
ademas me muero por ti'

Nutshell

40 years ago, a genius was born. his name was Layne Thomas Staley, and, no matter what people say, is one the the people i admire the most in this world.

his words touched my heart & saved my life.

happy birthday, wherever you are <3

'there's no time to give at all
i cause you grief and blow my hatred
further in your mind
you reach, I run, you fall
on skinned knees you crawl

i want to set you free, recognize my disease
love, sex, pain, confusion, suffering
you're there crying, I feel not a thing
drilling my way deeper in your head
sinking, draining, drowning, bleeding, dead

so you sit and think of love
i wait, hate all the more, I fall
on skinned knees I crawl

now there's time to give it all
i put my fears behind again
on skinned knees we'll crawl'

3 Suns & 1 Star

the artwork for the new Down album, Over The Under \m/ it will come out on September 25th and i'm already counting down the days to get it. by this time, you guys are tired of me always talking about them, but i can't do anything about it =D it's impossible to hide my love for them and all the excitement about the new album. i know i won't get disappointed \m/

and for all the curious ones, this is what i'm talking about:
go here and listen the fucking awesome song \m/ the quality it's not the best, but a few weeks ago i saw a live video of it, with better quality and it kicked ass \m/

some dude on the official Down board about another new song:
'
My friend called me up, awakening me from a nap to alert me that he had heard the DJ on Hard Attack say that new Down would be played within the hour. I immediately signed up for a 3 day free trial and sat at my computer waiting impatiently for about 45 minutes. Finally it came on. It was not at all what I expected. It was really really heavy and I could definately feel the Sabbath influence shining through. It's more refined production wise than previous Down. It was really heavy, sludgy and thick but not in the same way as their older stuff. Phil's vocals were pretty intense. He was definately using his full vocal range. I understand better what Pepper was talking about when he said they were really pushing their boundaries. It was a pretty complex song. Having heard two songs off this album now my curiosity is really peaked, both of them have been completely different from eachother and pretty different from their older stuff.'

so, it's over for now, i really need to study for the next exams, or i'll get fucked. again =]

Fucking Hostile

if he hadn't been killed by some crazy bastard on that tragic night, Dimebag Darrel would be 41 today.
he's one of my favorite guitarists ever, and it was is music that introduced me to metal, a style that i thought i hated 'cause i thought metal was only that black metal crap, and that it was all the same shit, no matter what people called it.
when i heard Damageplan for the first time i fell in love with them immediately. it took me a real short time to get into Pantera and to find out how fucking amazing they were, even more, much more than Damageplan.

despite metal has never been my favorite music genre, Pantera became one of my favorite bands , and Dime one of my favorite guitarists. he put out some of the best guitar solos i've ever heard, and every Pantera song has amazing riffs made by him.

so, enough words for now, watch the video below and see how great he was =D

Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me

From Blabbermouth:

'Down will release its third album, III - Over the Under, on September 25 through ILG/ Warner Music Group.

In the summer of 2006, the band embarked on a six-week European headline tour with no opening band, no product, and strictly by word of mouth, proceeded to sell out all 21 shows. Inspired by the response, the band reconnected in New Orleans to begin work on its most ambitious record to date.

Having already tapped Warren Riker, who produced Down's second release, II - A Bustle in Your Hedgerow, the band demoed some 18 songs in Nodferatu's Lair, Philip Anselmo's studio in the swamps of Folsom, LA, with engineer David "Puma" Troia. In February of 2007, the band commenced recording on their third and most committed record to date. Recorded in Los Angeles between February and July, with a Canadian tour with Heaven and Hell thrown in just for good measure, 15 songs were ultimately cut for Over the Under. The result is over 60 minutes of genre-defying music further solidifying their place at the forefront of heavy rock as only Down can do.

To chronicle the past five years leading up to the release of III - Over the Under, Philip Anselmo will be placing periodic installments to be released over the course of the next month on the band's web sites leading up to the release of the record. This is Philip's personal communication to the band's loyal fan base and gives a first-hand account the tragedy, isolation, rebirth and ultimate triumph of one of the most important band's of our time. The first installment will appear on August 17 on www.down-nola.com and www.myspace.com/downnola.

III - Over the Under track listing:
01. 3 Suns And 1 Star
02. The Path
03. N.O.D
04. I Scream
05. On March The Saints
06. Never Try
07. Mourn
08. Beneath The Tides
09. His Majesty The Desert
10. Pillamyd
11. In The Thrall Of It All
12. Nothing In Return (Walk Away)'

i'll die waiting for this. i want it so bad!

Over The Under

From Blabbermouth:

'Down — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring Corrosion Of Conformity guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-Pantera), guitarist Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (Superjoint Ritual, ex-Pantera) — has officially set "III - Over the Under" as the title of its third album, the group's publicist has confirmed to Blabbermouth. The CD is scheduled for release on September 25 through the Independent Label Group (ILG). Producer Warren Riker (Crowbar, Sublime) helmed the effort, for which the band composed more than 18 tracks.'

Factory Records legend Anthony Wilson dies

The man who signed Joy Division, Happy Mondays passes away

Anthony H. Wilson, co-founder of Factory Records, has died of a heart attack today (August 10) at the age of 57.

Wilson is best known for signing legendary bands including Joy Division and New Order to his label, and as owner of the Hacienda nightclub in Manchester.

He played a key role in the Madchester scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s, signing the Happy Mondays.

Wilson passed away on this evening in the hospital after suffering a heart attack that his doctor said was unrelated to his recent battle with cancer.

\m/

exactly one year ago, i sign up to a website that i had just discovered some days ago. it was called LastFM and it was all about music charts, our own music charts. one year later, my ten top artists are:

1. Nirvana (1446 plays)
2. Misfits (1019 plays)
3. Depeche Mode (966 plays)
4. Alice In Chains (842 plays)
5. Pink Floyd (744 plays)
6. Mark Lanegan (544 plays)
7. Screaming Trees (512 plays)
8. Pantera (501 plays)
9. Queens Of The Stone Age (453 plays)
10. The Smashing Pumpkins/ The Libertines ( 399 plays)

when i sign up i never thought that one year later this would be the bands/ artists i listened more. Pantera on my top ten? one year ago i didn't even like metal!!! but they kick ass, that's why i like them \m/ Misfits are the other ones who surprise me the most. since i found punk rock, i've always been crazy about it, but the Misftis were never my favorites. until i found how fucking great they really are, and since then, they've been an addiction. a good one.
i know this is completely useless, but i just felt like writing something here.
and to make this not so booooring && useless, i'll tell something good: to everyone of you who never heard of mr. Mark Lanegan, give it a try :) that man is a real god, almost as good as mr. Cobain was. everything he touches turns into gold, and i'm not the only one saying this. i choose to talk about him, not only because he really rocks, but because he is probably the less known one on that list. his old band, Screaming Trees, kicked ass too, he really great solo albuns and wonderful colaborations with other artists, such as Isobell Campbell (the cute blond girl from Belle & Sebastian), Soulsavers or Twilight Singers. and everyone who likes QOTSA surely will recognize his voice. he did some songs with them on Rated R and Songs For The Deaf.
and this is getting too big. bye bye kissy kissy :)

listen some samples of his music here
